Hello everyone! It's definitely been awhile.
Back in 2007, I had made a final update to this site proclaiming it's dormancy,
but had decided to still keep it on the web as a useful resource for a
wealth of Mortal Kombat information. Since then, a lot has happened
in the MK universe that was not covered on this site - MK: Deception had
already left its mark on the fighting game industry, MK: Armageddon had
come and gone, MK Vs. DC Universe
changed the franchise yet again, and the third
MK movie... well... we're still waiting I guess. Lately,
however, a lot has transpired behind the scenes here. To be brief,
the Mortal Kombat Empire was hosted by Geocities since it's first stint
on the web back in 1997. Some years back, Yahoo!
acquired Geocities, but no major changes happened. Effective today,
however, Yahoo! is closing Geocities for good, and has been requesting
that all Geocities content either be moved to another web hosting service,
or kept at Yahoo! via the purchase of a beefier web hosting plan.
Now, even though this site isn't very active anymore, rather than lose
all of the hard work that was put into it for many years, I decided to
take the plunge and give the MK Empire a little security by moving the
site to a legitimate web host (Yahoo!) and acquire a domain name for the
It's kind of funny that it took nearly 12 years for this to happen, but
the decision was easy and so was the transition (well, kind of).
So, if you currently have any of the following old web addresses bookmarked...
... please take the time to update your bookmarks to the new domain name: www.mkempire.org. Also, I have set up a respective e-mail address as well that I'd prefer be used for any correspondence from this point forward: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am still in the process of working out some bugs and such with the transition to the new domain, so bear with me. I realize that many of the submission forms, the search feature, some java code, and a few other things on the site do not work at the moment, and I am trying my best to iron these things out and make appropriate changes to links and footers on each page as time permits. In the meantime, feel free to browse the site for any Mortal Kombat-related information from roughly 1998-2005, and leave a message in the Guestbook if you have a minute. Also, if you have any suggestions or notice anything that needs fixing, please don't hesitate to drop me a line at email@example.com. So for now, enjoy the new (yet still the same) Mortal Kombat Empire, and remember - Survival Begins Here!
