3rd Mortal Kombat movie news
According to MK5.org,
there's been a post up on Lynn
Red Williams' website for awhile mentioning that he's going
to be starring in the 3rd MK movie.
Williams was the big guy who played Jax in Mortal Kombat Annihilation,
and I think he played the part pretty well. His site also says that
Christopher Lambert will be returning to play as Raiden, which I think
is a sign that this movie should be better than the second because Chris
was probably the best character in the first movie. Oh, and Lynn's
site also mentions that the 3rd MK movie will allow us to see the end of
an important character... hmm... could it be Jax? We're just gonna
have to wait and see.
Next EGM issue to have MK: Deadly Alliance
info
Planet
MK recently broke the news that next month's issue of EGM Magazine
will feature exclusive info of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (MK5).
They may be doing an interview with Midway,
so keep on the lookout for this issue, but don't get too excited since
everyone knows that the internet is about 2-3 months aheads of newsstand
mags.
What's up with java?
In case you didn't notice, when
I put this page back up last month I did a litle updating to the Old
News page and put a java navigation bar that you can use to
access old news. But, from what I can see, it does not work on the
internet. I made it with a trial program and it works fine on my
computer when I use Netscape Composer, but online it doesn't seem to work.
I think I uploaded all the right files, but if anyone reading this knows
anything about java stuff, e-mail
me with a little help or else I'll have to take it down and figure
something else out.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance?
I think by now it's pretty official.
All over the web it's been reported that on December 21st, Midway
Games released the title of an upcoming game - Mortal Kombat:
Deadly Alliance. Planet
MK was the first to drop the news, and we're all taking a guess
that this title will probably replace "Mortal Kombat 5" for the title of
the next game. But, guess if you will, the answer is almost definately
yes because a few days before the 21st, Midway registered the domains http://www.mortalkombatdeadlyalliance.com
and http://www.mkdeadlyalliance.com.
Don't bother trying them yet because they don't work, but sooner or later
we could see some action happening. So, there you have it, the next
MK game could be called Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, which I think is
way better than calling it MK5. This title gives it more of a dark
and tag-teamish sort of feeling, which would work well with storylines
and things like that. What do you think? Go to the message
board and post your thoughts on this matter... since it is
the best thing to happen to MK since rye on bread.
NEW MK Character - Tassia
We'll give credit to MK5.org
for this one. Two days ago they discovered that Midway, just 3 days
before registering the new MK title, also made a trademark of the name
"Tassia". There's a 30 day waiting period to get a trademark
across, and those 30 days are up and signs are looking good. This
could possibly be a new character for the next MK game - MK5 or
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. MK5.org does note that MK
Special Forces had a female boss in it named "Tasia" with one
"s", but they also found out that in a chat transcript with Ed Boon from
August 25th, 1999, Boon replied "VERY good chance of that!!" to a question
concerning the return of Black Dragon Organization members. So, a
new female ninja from Kano's background? Sounds good to me.
Make sure you sign up for Midway's Mortal
Kombat Breaking News Newsletter so you can stay on top of things,
and if you have any info regarding these updates, drop me a line.

The third MK movie ditches the name
The guys over at Planet
MK were first to report that the third
MK Movie will most likely not be called Mortal Kombat Domination.
Threshold Entertainment has confirmed this themselves, and they say that
they will give all correct information to IMDB as soon as they know who
is definitly writing the movie. Also, Planet
MK has reported that a german site by the name of GameStar
has confirmed that Scorpion, Jax, Sub-Zero, and Raiden will be in MK5,
which could possibly be released for the PC too. That's cool.
